Here’s my adorable neighbor/father of my dog’s girlfriend/actor Calvin Radsick in a Canadian Tuxedo. My fellow Ohioan is seen above in Zara jeans and a Forever 21 top.

Last night I managed to sneak a photo of songwriter and producer Michael Linney at Soho House West Hollywood. Mr. Linney is looking dapper in his all-denim ensemble made up of Zara jeans and H&M button down.
Proof yet again that the Canadian Tuxedo is indeed fashionable. Here is Marc Jacobs associate Kevan Pike rocking some stylish double denim – all Marc by Marc Jacobs – at the Marc Jacobs Headquarters in NYC. We’re digging the Zissou-esque look that beanie seems to add (could be a stretch … we’re a bit Wes Anderson-obsessed over here).
We couldn’t agree more. StyleCaster posted a story yesterday called “50 Fashion Rules to Break Right Now” and it came as little surprised to see denim-on-denim make the list. Of course, we’ve been promoting the look for years and think, when done right, the Canadian Tuxedo is one of the best looks around. StyleCaster advises, “the easiest trick to rocking double denim without looking like you got lost on the way to the cattle ranch: Pair pieces of varying washes together, such as a light denim shirt with dark denim jeans, or a dark denim jacket with a light-wash pair of denim shorts.”

Holy sh*t! What a start to the day! Our efforts to not only support the term, but promote the double denim look, a.k.a. the Canadian Tuxedo, have hit all new highs as we found ourselves on the cover of the Wall Street Journal today! Team Tux thinks this look is amazing. And elegant. Chanel even makes Canadian Tuxedos (Thank you Uncle Karl).
Let us know what you think and have a great weekend!
Once again, I find myself seated at the double denim mecca of LA, Coffee Commissary, happening upon yet another amazing Canadian Tuxedo. This time on Jessica Tan, who’s seen above in Mabel jeans, a vintage denim button down, MOSCOT Originals shades, Clare Vivier bag and shoes by Joie.
If you want to see a Canadian Tuxedo in LA, just sit at Coffee Commissary on Fairfax for about 30 seconds and one will appear. It’s not quite as crazy as sitting at Two For Joy in Amsterdam, but as close as you’ll get in the City of Angels. Here is Leigh Ann Souers – with Bob the Dog – in a Levi’s Jacket and Rag & Bone jeans.
I think this guy is my denim and dog soulmate. This is Mark Avery, who we met last year at the same Starbucks in a different Canadian Tuxedo. Mark is seen above rocking some very cool LA brands you should check out including: a denim jacket by Mister Freedom, henley from Rising Sun & Co. and jeans by Simon Miller. Pictured with Mark is his yorkie, Twiggy. Don’t you think Twiggy and my baby Rocco would make the perfect couple?
Michael van Oene just sent me this photo of his pals he’s dubbed “The Denim Boys,” who arrived at Two For Joy Coffee Roasters in Amsterdam rocking a couple Canadian Tuxedos (per usual). Birthday boy, Edgar, is upfront in a Koto chambray button down and Indigo & Main jeans. Robert is in back wearing Lee. Happy Birthday, Edgar! Now get some sleep.
