Even without his robe, Kevin Lee Light looks angelic. I ran into long-time pal and subject of another one of my blogs I Saw Jesus in LA at the Sunset Strip Market in West Hollywood last Thursday night. While Jesus was out and about in his plain clothes, I stuck to my denim on denim uniform: James Jeans Twiggy denim leggings in coral I picked up at Rowe in Columbus, Ohio and my Gap jean jacket I still have from high school.
Good news for fans of both my sites: Kevin informed me he just got a denim Jesus robe. Can’t wait to see that look.
Yesterday was the James Jean Trunk Show at Rowe in Columbus, Ohio, and the Canadian Tuxedo was definitely the look of the day! Here is Allison Moneme in James red denim pants and Dolce Vita shoes.
James Jeans’ Randi Goldman is representing in this colorful Canadian Tuxedo consisting of teal James Jeans Twiggy in Peppermint, Brandy Melville denim jacket, Rory Beca top, Jenny Bird necklace and Yosi Samra flats. Make sure you stop in to Rowe for the James Jean Truck Show going on now!
I actually spotted a few Canadian Tuxedos when I was at Rowe today – thank you James Jeans trunk show – but this adorable double denim ensemble rolled in right after I left. Fortunately Owner Maren Roth snapped a photo and sent it my way. Here is Queair in Levi’s jeans and a denim thrift shirt. More from the James Jeans trunk show and my latest spin on the Canadian Tuxedo to come! If you’re in Columbus, be sure to swing by Rowe tonight between 5:00 and 7:00 for a special cocktail hour and some very colorful denim.
Our dear friend Maren Roth of Rowe Boutique fame has once again submitted a picture of one of her fashion-forward friends. This time of Kyle Widder rocking a Canadian Tuxedo (or as they are pushing to call it in my hometown, the “Columbuxedo“). Kyle is pictured here in a Dakota Grizzly shirt and Levi’s jeans. I’ve been here a whole week and haven’t seen a one. I blame the terrible weather, forcing everyone to cover their double denim with heavy, waterproof coats.
My hometown represents! Another day, another photo sent my way from Columbus, Ohio. This time from Matt Barnes of the incomparable Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. In his email, Matt says,
“I think Columbus is vying to take the moniker away from Canada. It should be called the Columbus tuxedo or the Columbuxedo! I was getting coffee at Stauf’s (a Columbus staple for the young and awesome) this afternoon when I came across these two hip fellas. My senses must have been piqued after seeing Maren Roth‘s post on FB linking to your ever-so rad site this morning.”
We love the idea and Matt, who rocks double denim at least once a week, earning him a spot on this site before. Thanks, Matt! Just one question: When did Rufus Wainwright move to the Bus?
