Josh Shaw, Artistic Director of the Pacific Opera Project, channeled his inner hipster in this vintage Canadian Tux at the company’s recent performance of La Boheme at the historic Ebell Club of Highland Park. If they do it again, you must go – impressive performances with some hilarious translations, making this version a modern day tale of hipster love on the east side of Los Angeles, instead of the classic story in Paris. Christina Milian was seen leaving Mr. Chow in what looks like an acid-washed denim shirt and jeans after enjoying dinner with her new boyfriend, Jas Prince last week in Beverly Hills.
Gwen Stefani – the always fashion-forward designer and songstress – was seen rocking the double denim while in Paris promoting No Doubt’s Push & Shove yesterday. She’s being panned by some for the look, but we’re loving the raw denim suit. Think it’s L.A.M.B.?
Musician Lp Offishal was rocking a Canadian Tuxedo – an LA favorite combo of Zara jeans and H&M denim shirt. You can check out Lp here.
More from the fabulous People StyleWatch at Palihouse in West Hollywood party below.
A little warm up music by AVICII for Fashion’s Night Out. Which shops will you be hitting tonight?
Dominican pop sensation Kat Deluna was seen in denim cutoffs and a jean jacket at Starbucks in Beverly Hills.
Last week I had the pleasure of seeing Minneapolis’s Poliça play an intimate show at Levi’s Haus in West Hollywood, right off the Sunset Strip. Pictured above is lead singer Channy Leaneagh in a Levi’s denim Button-Up dress. If you haven’t yet, check out the hypnotic experimental beats sounds of Poliça.
Another guy braved the sweltering Los Angeles heat and rocked out in double denim at the Sunset Strip Music Festival. Here is Alfonzo in Paper Denim jeans and an & Shirt denim top.
Last night at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, while waiting for another turn at the photo machine outside of The Roxy, I saw Sam Trainer dressed head-to-toe in Civilianaire, the company for which he happens to work.
Having great friends in a city like Los Angeles lead to amazing nights like Wednesday. My dear friend, Hellin Kay, stylist to the stars/fashion editor/photographer extraordinaire, was kind enough to ask me to be her “Plus 1” to Gen Art‘s party for Vena Cava at the famed Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. As we were waiting for my all-time fave St. Vincent to perform a solo set (I die a thousand times over), I had the pleasure of meeting musician Darian Zahedi, who was double denimed up in a Levi’s jacket and Kill City jeans. More on my star-studded night out with Hellin can be found here.
A little video I shot of St. Vincent covering The Beatles’ Dig A Pony (swoon).
