Proof yet again that the Canadian Tuxedo is indeed fashionable. Here is Marc Jacobs associate Kevan Pike rocking some stylish double denim – all Marc by Marc Jacobs – at the Marc Jacobs Headquarters in NYC. We’re digging the Zissou-esque look that beanie seems to add (could be a stretch … we’re a bit Wes Anderson-obsessed over here).

Hey, LA! Do this: AG Jeans Sample Sale
While I was at the Cooper Design Space in DTLA today, I made sure to pop in and check out the AG Jeans Sample Sale and boy was I pleased.
You can grab new denim ($60-$80, usually $200+) and apparel for men and women – think $40 silk blend blouses and denim shirts. The sale is running today and tomorrow. And – bonus – they accept credit cards!
It also looks like Levi’s was setting up for their own sample sale, so head over tomorrow and you’re sure to spiff up your Canadian Tux for some deals you really can’t beat.
Fashion Rules to Break: The Canadian Tuxedo
We couldn’t agree more. StyleCaster posted a story yesterday called “50 Fashion Rules to Break Right Now” and it came as little surprised to see denim-on-denim make the list. Of course, we’ve been promoting the look for years and think, when done right, the Canadian Tuxedo is one of the best looks around. StyleCaster advises, “the easiest trick to rocking double denim without looking like you got lost on the way to the cattle ranch: Pair pieces of varying washes together, such as a light denim shirt with dark denim jeans, or a dark denim jacket with a light-wash pair of denim shorts.”

Double denim at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market
I spotted this lovely lady in a fall Canadian Tuxedo – Gap denim shirt and Citizens of Humanity mustard jeans – on Sunday at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market.
Spotted: Canadian Tuxedo in West Hollywood
Talk about timing! Just minutes after doing a mini photo shoot for my Wall Street Journal front page story with my friend and neighbor, actress/model Sandra Lerga, I ran into actor Ross Anderson who was also rocking a sick Canadian Tuxedo. Pictured above is Ross in Nudie jeans and a TOPMAN jacket.
Spotted: Us on the cover of the Wall Street Journal!
Holy sh*t! What a start to the day! Our efforts to not only support the term, but promote the double denim look, a.k.a. the Canadian Tuxedo, have hit all new highs as we found ourselves on the cover of the Wall Street Journal today! Team Tux thinks this look is amazing. And elegant. Chanel even makes Canadian Tuxedos (Thank you Uncle Karl).
Let us know what you think and have a great weekend!
Spotted: Canadian Tuxedo at the Santa Monica Pier
I blame jet lag from my trip abroad for letting this post slip through the cracks. This is Brenda Reynoso in a little double denim at the Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue show, part of the Twilight Concerts at the Santa Monica Pier. Brenda is looking super stylish (and smart – it gets cold at the beach, even in August) in black jeans from Zara, denim shirt by Bella Dahl, Michelle Lane necklace and hat by Bailey.
Spotted: Marlo in a Canadian Tuxedo on I Dream of #NeNe
All she had to do was stay in all this denim to be perfectly blue at NeNe’s party. We hope you learned a valuable lesson, Miss Marlo. Tisk tisk.
Spotted: Eva Mendez in a Canadian Tuxedo
The always stunning Eva Mendez was see walking her pup last week in Los Angeles rocking a chic Canadian Tuxedo. Leave it to her to step things up a bit with those sexy boots and pink overcoat. Now, when exactly is it going to be cold enough during the day in LA to wear our wool winter jackets?

Spotted: Canadian Tuxedo in Los Angeles
Once again, I find myself seated at the double denim mecca of LA, Coffee Commissary, happening upon yet another amazing Canadian Tuxedo. This time on Jessica Tan, who’s seen above in Mabel jeans, a vintage denim button down, MOSCOT Originals shades, Clare Vivier bag and shoes by Joie.
