Our new friend Jennifer, of fashion/music blog malcriada, reminded us of Lauryn Hill’s dope double denim looks in the “Everything Is Everything” video off of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill – one of the greatest albums of my generation. Taking a page from Miss Hill, canadiantux.com is about developing a negative and into a positive picture. Double denim is by no means a fashion faux pas. This site is about celebrating the look and changing the stigma associated with he dreaded Canadian Tux.

Lucky me met Lucky Brand’s VP of Merchandising Joshua Weiner in a major Canadian Tuxedo last night at Palihouse. Joshua was representing his brand well in the soon-to-be-launched Riviera Club X Lucky Brand jeans, Lucky Brand shirt and Robert Geller jacket. Loving all the Lucky looks and was super fortunate to have been included in a Lucky Brands shoot for Champagne and Heels earlier this year.
I can’t say I’m terribly shocked to have seen so much double denim amongst the fashion set at Palihouse tonight. Is there any better look? Here is Natalie rocking ampersand brands head to toe: H&M denim shirt, Rag & Bone boots and Rich & Skinny jeans.
My Bravo week continues! Tonight I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Brad Goreski’s assistant, Thomas Phillips, in a Canadian Tuxedo at the Tiny Bandit‘s Sample Sale at the Palihouse in West Hollywood. Thomas was looking super adorbs in a Billy Reid denim shirt, Missoni top and Levi’s jeans. We know how much his Canadian-fashion-God boss loves the double denim, so it was no surprise to see Thomas representing in the most stylish of ways. Brad, if you’re reading this: We love you.

The Hunger Games hunk Josh Hutcherson was seen working the double denim look outside Sayers Club in Hollywood- yep the same club where we spotted this hottie in a Canadian Tuxedo, and from where Lindsay Lohan recently fled from her latest hit and run.

Here is actual Canadian Amy DiCarlo in an Canadian Tuxedo at Melrose Trading Post today. She wasn’t actually planning on rocking the double denim, but damn this cold front during her vacation to Los Angeles! We think she looks great in Paige jeans, TNA flannel shirt and sweater, Johnny Cupcakes T-shirt, vintage denim jacket, Super sunglasses and a DOPE head piece she picked up that day at the flea market.
The flea market may have been a little slow today, but the double denim was all over. We spotted NINE Canadian Tuxedos within five minutes of being there, including this gem comprised of a Ralph Lauren denim jacket with an MG logo and Albam jeans (yes, this guy was a Brit).
