It’s been a while since we got a double denim pic from my hometown! Here is Sydney Federer stylin in a denim shirt from J. Crew, James Jeans and Sperry Top siders! Adorbs!
My friend, Jason Bromberg, sent me this treasure I’m totally obsessing over – a picture of him from back in the day in a Canadian Tuxedo at Jeffrey Mansion in our hometown Bexley, Ohio.
Our dear friend Maren Roth of Rowe Boutique fame has once again submitted a picture of one of her fashion-forward friends. This time of Kyle Widder rocking a Canadian Tuxedo (or as they are pushing to call it in my hometown, the “Columbuxedo“). Kyle is pictured here in a Dakota Grizzly shirt and Levi’s jeans. I’ve been here a whole week and haven’t seen a one. I blame the terrible weather, forcing everyone to cover their double denim with heavy, waterproof coats.
My hometown represents! Another day, another photo sent my way from Columbus, Ohio. This time from Matt Barnes of the incomparable Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. In his email, Matt says,
“I think Columbus is vying to take the moniker away from Canada. It should be called the Columbus tuxedo or the Columbuxedo! I was getting coffee at Stauf’s (a Columbus staple for the young and awesome) this afternoon when I came across these two hip fellas. My senses must have been piqued after seeing Maren Roth‘s post on FB linking to your ever-so rad site this morning.”
We love the idea and Matt, who rocks double denim at least once a week, earning him a spot on this site before. Thanks, Matt! Just one question: When did Rufus Wainwright move to the Bus?
Maren Roth has sent me yet another picture of her pal, Kevin Ryan, whom she has proclaimed the “King of the Columbus Canadian Tuxedo.” As founder of Rowe, the top-drawer, tony boutique in the Capital City, we’re gonna take her word for it.
How serendipitous. Lee National Denim Day happens to fall on my birthday this year. I personally lost my aunt to breast cancer almost 20 years ago. Donate here to an incredible 16-year campaign.
ATTENTION Columbus: There has been a denim invasion in the Capital City!!! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my hometown is DOPE! Yesterday Jeni’s sent us a pic of one of their own draped in denim. Today, Maren Roth, owner of another Columbus institution, Rowe Boutique, sent us this of her boy Kevin. Love the differing denim colors.
