I can always count on a decent Canadian Tuxedo showing at The Darkroom in Los Angeles. Last night, not one, but three bartenders were rocking the look. Sexy Ryan Marks – in Levi’s jeans and a vintage shirt – was kind enough to let me take his pic.

Sick Canadian Tux at Wasteland in Los Angeles
LOVE LOVE LOVE this look! While shopping on Melrose today I met Wasteland‘s Mia working the double denim in vintage Levi’s black denim cutoffs and oversized jacket with a The Cramps T-shirt and Jeffrey Campbell boots.
Spotted: Canadian Tuxedo in West Hollywood
I caught Jewelry Designer Devon Pavlovits a few weeks ago at the Palihouse in West Hollywood, but lost her card and was unable to post until today! She’s seen here in a vintage denim shirt and jeans from Target. To learn more about Devon and her incredible handcrafted jewelry line, click here.
Double denim at Starbucks on Melrose
While grabbing coffee this morning, I spotted yet another incredible double denim ensemble. Here is Costume Designer Mark Avery looking dapper in a Levi’s Big E denim jacket and Jean Shop jeans.
A Canadian in a Canadian Tuxedo at Melrose Trading Post
Here is actual Canadian Amy DiCarlo in an Canadian Tuxedo at Melrose Trading Post today. She wasn’t actually planning on rocking the double denim, but damn this cold front during her vacation to Los Angeles! We think she looks great in Paige jeans, TNA flannel shirt and sweater, Johnny Cupcakes T-shirt, vintage denim jacket, Super sunglasses and a DOPE head piece she picked up that day at the flea market.
Spotted: Canadian Tuxedo at Melrose Trading Post
The flea market may have been a little slow today, but the double denim was all over. We spotted NINE Canadian Tuxedos within five minutes of being there, including this gem comprised of a Ralph Lauren denim jacket with an MG logo and Albam jeans (yes, this guy was a Brit).
Double Double Denim in West Hollywood

It all comes full circle. I started this blog as a celebration of the double denim look, often condemned as a fashion faux pas. The first original image I ever posted was of this baby draped in denim, whom I spotted in the elevator at Target in West Hollywood. Fast forward 10 months, and who do I meet? A couple of guys, both with Levi’s, one of whom is a correspondent for denim blog powerhouse Denimology (!!!), in the very same elevator, rocking Canadian Tuxedos.
On the left is Thomas Rossi, Jr., in Levi’s Made for Craft jeans and Levi’s Vintage Clothing 1955 Sawtooth shirt. To the right is Darrrell Nobrega in a Levi’s Type 1 Trucker jacket and 520 taper jeans.
Thanks, guys! You made my week!
Another Canadian Tuxedo at Coffee Commissary
Another hour, another Canadian Tux at Coffee Commissary – a.k.a. Land of Denim. If you think I’m joking, I saw SIX Canadian Tuxedos in less than 2 hours there yesterday. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Rheese Detrow, drummer in the band Dendelo, which just completed a new, yet-to-be-named album of raw/aggressive rock. Rheese is such a sweetheart; trying to imagine aggressive coming from him … I digress.
Anyway, Rheese is seen here in a vintage flannel-lined Levi’s jacket and LA-based Schaeffer’s Garment Hotel 15 oz. Japanese Denim jeans.
Another Canadian Tuxedo at the Yard Sale in Los Angeles
Just minutes after meeting Cindian, Daisy appeared in denim on denim! I’m telling you Sundays are for ladies draped in denim in Los Angeles. Daisy is in Genetic jeans and a shirt she picked up at Goodwill.
