On Tuesday night I had the pleasure of meeting another Columbus ex-pat at Footsie’s in Los Angeles. I’ve written several items about how much people from Columbus, Ohio love their Canadian Tuxedos (one fan has even proposed we change the name to “Columbuxedo“). So, it was no surprise, when multi-instrumentalist Brad Caulkins strolled in rocking the double denim. Brad is seen above in a vintage Big E Levi’s jacket, a family heirloom from the early 50s which once belonged to his cousin, who died wearing it in motorcycle accident. Brad’s also wearing A.P.C. jeans.
Someone get this guy a trucker hat that reads “DOUBLE DENIM.” The 30 Rock star was recently seen (with co-stars Tracy Morgan and Tina Fey) sporting another Canadian Tuxedo at the Entertainment Weekly and NBC’s celebration of the final season of 30 Rock at Isola Trattoria & Crudo Bar at Mondrian Soho.
There’s always a heated debate as to whether or not denim on denim is a fashion faux pas or simply fashionable. In fact, this site was started to prove that double denim is an amazingly stylish, timeless look for all – when done right, of course. How adorable is my friend’s daughter? Jillian just had to share this too-cute photo of her youngest trying out her Halloween costume, a Canadian Tuxedo-clad Cowgirl. Spencer is seen here in a matching denim jacket and skirt by Haven Girl (complete with cowboy boot embellishing on the back). She’s coordinated her pink cowgirl boots, holster, gun and hat to match her pink arm cast – this girl is a wild one! I seriously can’t get enough.
Christina Milian was seen leaving Mr. Chow in what looks like an acid-washed denim shirt and jeans after enjoying dinner with her new boyfriend, Jas Prince last week in Beverly Hills.
After an incredible meal, I ran into Vizion Jones, tour manager, outside of Båco Mercat in Downtown Los Angeles. Vizion was looking dapper in Rag & Bone jeans and a Levi’s jacket.
This site is dedicated to double denim done right, and we wouldn’t classify Jay Leno’s Canadian Tuxedos as stylish, but we thought this “Gangnam Style” parody was worth sharing. So much denim.
Skinny Girl Bethenny Frankel was seen rocking the double denim while on a stroll through NYC with her adorable daughter Bryn Hoppy. How cute is Bryn in that denim jacket and pink cowgirl boots?
Gwen Stefani – the always fashion-forward designer and songstress – was seen rocking the double denim while in Paris promoting No Doubt’s Push & Shove yesterday. She’s being panned by some for the look, but we’re loving the raw denim suit. Think it’s L.A.M.B.?
