Royal (Blue) Wedding

With the Royal Wedding weekend upon us, we couldn’t help but think how Kate Middleton would look saying “I do” in a Canadian Tuxedo.

We found a ton of truly hideous denim wedding dresses on satnspurs.com. Apparently DENIMBLOG did, as well, and went on a hunt to find more fashionable denim gowns, like this number.

We also found this recycled denim dress from Gary Harvey, which was seen on the runway at NY Fashion Week in February 2010.

And for Pippa? We like this flirty frock from Kelly Ewing.

Spotted: Hayden Panattiere in a Canadian Tuxedo!

We all know Hayden Panettiere has a serious thing for older men and J Brand. When not all dolled up on the red carpet, she’s usually pictured in their jeans (lots of colored denim lately). J Brand posted this killer picture on their Facebook page from a recent shoot in NYLON. For the Scream 4 star’s “Halloween” movie look, she wore this dope ass Canadian Tuxedo with J Brand the Kiki in Lotus. Werk.

Canadian Tuxedo: by The Black Keys

It’s no secret I love The Black Keys, and blog about them often. I listen to “Ohio” at least once a day (hometown pride, my friends). I also enjoy East Bound & Down, featuring “Your Touch,” by Akron’s finest. How fortunate that the respective video is chock full o’ Canadian Tuxedo? Loving Ohio more than ever.

Spotted: Joe Jonas in a Canadian Tuxedo!

Joe Jonas was seen running around the Big Apple in this Canadian Tuxedo! Looking good!

Denim Day in LA & USA

Wear your Canadian Tuxedo for a great cause! Today is Denim Day in LA & USA, a rape prevention educational effort where people, politicians and students are asked to wear jeans as a visual protest against the misconceptions of sexual assault.

Why denim? The story goes back to Italy in 1990 when an 18-year-old girl was raped by her 45-year-old driving instructor. He forced her out of the car and made her remove her jeans. She brought charges against the perpetrator, who was prosecuted and sent to jail. He appealed. The case went to the Corte Suprema di Cassazione, where the case was overturned. Why? The chief judge argued “because the victim wore very, very tight jeans, she had to help him remove them, and by removing the jeans it was no longer rape but consensual sex.”

Women in the Parlamento Italian immediately protested by wearing jeans to work.

The movement made its way to Los Angeles in 1999 and has continued every year since then.

Canadian Tuxedos by Rowe Boutique!

Thank you to our dear friend Maren Roth of Rowe Boutique in Columbus, Ohio, who styled us not one, but TWO dope Canadian Tuxedos! Lucky us, she could decide which one to submit, so we got them both! She should be happy Dope Canadian Tux Contributor Kelly Ryan O’Brien wasn’t on hand because she probably would’ve ripped that necklace right off your model. True story. I’ll be at Rowe next week! Can’t wait. Thanks again! xoxoxo

Spotted: Canadian Tuxedo Franz Ferdinand Style

Where there’s a dope ass band, there’s a dope ass Canadian Tuxedo. They discuss the Canadian Tux around the 3:45 minute mark.
