This place is a hotbed for denim on denim! We spotted yet another Canadian Tuxedo on this guy in a vintage denim shirt and throwback Levi’s last night.

Happy Birthday Jeans!
You’ve come a long way, baby! Today marks the 138th anniversary of the day Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis were granted U.S. Patent Number 139,121 for their use of rivets to add strength to denim work pants. Who would’ve thunk that the denim pants, which were created as gear during the California Gold Rush would have evolved into the fashion statement of our time?
Levi’s created the first official denim tuxedo for Bing Crosby in 1951, which he often wore.
Levi’s jeans remain the iconic American look and continues to edge out the competition, accounting for 33 percent in denim sales.

In honor of the Jean’s big day, Levi’s has been posting fun facts all month! Check out some things you might not know about denim here.
Representing in Columbus
My boy Eric Sagun and I rocked some pretty dope ass Canadian Tuxedos last night to our buddy’s birthday party. Happy 36th Michael F*cking Kenney! We love you!

Levi’s Go Forth To Work
My friend, Peter Duggan, and I have a shared interest and love for Detroit, which is unsual since we met in high school in Columbus, Ohio. He spent a few years in the Motor City working for the Pistons and fell in love. My romance can best be explained in this blog I wrote a month ago for BuzzRocket. Anyway, we were discussing the sadly underfunded BURN, a “character-driven documentary about Detroit, told through the eyes of Detroiters who are on the front lines, trying to rescue and rebuild it.” During our emails back and forth, he sent me this wonderful spot by Levi’s. Like BURN, it’s quite moving (and it made this blog because it features a few Canadian Tuxedos).

Dress up your Canadian Tuxedo with The Jack Collection
Pay attention, boys. Last month, The Jack Collection released three limited edition bow ties: Arizona, Cool Breeze, and Sand Storm. Inspired by warm weather, linen textiles blend with bold colors, these ties will make any Canadian Tuxedo instantly DOPE.
Each piece is carefully designed to give character to the ensemble while complimenting the gentleman.
According to The Jack Collection, “The novelty men’s accessories line centers it’s creative concept on both a forward thinking vision devoted to the celebration of the American Renaissance man, and masculine simplicity.”
The online store (www.thejackcollection.com) will continue to release a few distinctive accessories in limited quantities periodically until the official launch of the line. You can follow @JackCollection on twitter for updates and exclusive offers!
Dick on a Canadian in a Canadian Tuxedo
Anyone who is Facebook friends with Dope contributor Kelly Ryan O’Brien and me knows that we have a series of dick jokes that just won’t quit. It usually involves my dog Rocco in various situations with a caption “Dick on a …” Friend Kelly and me and see for yourself.
Anyhoo, met photographer (and Canadian) Trevor King at Karla B.‘s last night. He really seemed to fancy a little Dick. Of course a dope ass photographer would roll in a Canadian Tuxedo. He’s seen below in NEUW jeans and a vintage denim shirt by Levi’s.
Um, why didn’t I start this blog earlier? Look at all the cute boys I’m meeting!
Summer Canadian Tux
Just In time for summer! Picked up these 501 cut offs today at Urban Outfitters. Paired with my Gap jacket I’ve had since high school. My Canadian Tuxedo is ready for summer!
Trend Alert: Chambray!
Thanks to the chambray trend, we’re seeing Canadian Tuxedos all over the place! Here’s a great video from Levi’s showing some dope denim looks for spring.
Royal (Blue) Wedding
With the Royal Wedding weekend upon us, we couldn’t help but think how Kate Middleton would look saying “I do” in a Canadian Tuxedo.
We found a ton of truly hideous denim wedding dresses on satnspurs.com. Apparently DENIMBLOG did, as well, and went on a hunt to find more fashionable denim gowns, like this number.
We also found this recycled denim dress from Gary Harvey, which was seen on the runway at NY Fashion Week in February 2010.
And for Pippa? We like this flirty frock from Kelly Ewing.
