Another Canadian Tux spotting at the Marvelous Toy debut album release party at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles. This time it was the Mathbot, who was draped in denim – vintage Levi’s jacket and women’s Old Navy jeans, “because they fit the best.” We’re a little unclear from the site what the Mathbot does, but gather he’s in a couple bands and part of some half robot movement – think Blogus Robotticelli and that dude from the LMFAO videos. Is there some secret half robot man society in LA? I must know more.
My friend, Jason Bromberg, sent me this treasure I’m totally obsessing over – a picture of him from back in the day in a Canadian Tuxedo at Jeffrey Mansion in our hometown Bexley, Ohio.
I caught my reflection in the window of Starbucks on Melrose and Stanley in Los Angeles this morning. The girl behind me has to think I’m a bigger narcissist than I actually am. Here I am (holding my prize pooch Rocco) in vintage Levi’s cutoffs and my denim Gap jacket from high school (guess that would be considered vintage, as well), Splendid circle shirt, Gucci bag and TOMS gold herringbone shoes. Fedora from a street vendor in Venice. Minutes later, I was Punk’d on Break.com. More on that …
I had the pleasure of running into artist/filmmaker Molly Schiot at Larchmont Beauty Center (amazing store if you’ve never been). She is seen here in a Lee denim jacket and Cheap Monday jeans. And You should check out her site. Molly has an impressively cool portfolio of work.
I caught this vintage Canadian Tuxedo last night as I was leaving Karla B.‘s birthday celebration at LA hotspot The Churchill. What a way to end a fantastic evening.
Just seconds before yet another painfully uncomfortable emotional breakdown on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim Richards was seen in double denim with Kyle Richards at their sister Kathy Hilton’s vintage boutique Designer Archives.
I saw John Keefe of Boys Like Girls last night at Darkroom in Los Angeles rocking a very cool Canadian Tuxedo. The Love Drunk drummer was in some Zara jeans with an amazing stitch treatment and an H&M jacket.
Double denim is everywhere! I saw another Canadian Tuxedo while picking up some breakfast at Lox Stock & Bagel in Scottsdale this morning. This guy was rocking some vintage denim – on top and bottom. Loving the multipanel shirt, complete with a little embroidering. Love it. I’ll be rocking my own Canadian Tux when I go horseback riding in a bit. Stay tuned!
